Only In Sleep | Michael Igoe

We run roughshod over them,
those displays in faded tents.
A chance from the Zodiac,
might set them all free
resurrect their challenge.
But that only occurs in sleep.
Awake, the chance of answers,
permits a complete cosmetic,
the sun embarks
on a grisly journey
arcs past you in torrents
to confronts you at midday
like an old man’s time spent planning
four days in bed.
